Our innovative digital printing technology achieves extremely sharp text as small as 2pt (regular type) or 3pt (reverse type).

  • 3

    Photorealistic images:

The printed result is picture perfect with exact lines and edges, clearly legible type as well as vivid color in millions of shades.

  • 4

    Optimum color saturation:

Versatile inks achieve an impressive color space with optimum coverage and saturation, for the best possible promotion of your products.

  • 5

    Matte and gloss:

Our digital printing technology shines, with surface effects ranging from matte to high gloss. This doesn’t just feel good, it looks amazing.

  • 6

    Tactile surfaces:

Unique and tactile surface are the latest trend in the decoration of cylindrical containers. Digital printing by Hinterkopf offers the option for tactile surface and other special effects, creating a multi-sensory experience.

  • 7

    No-overlap printing:

Our highly innovative digital printing technology ensures pixel-to-pixel accurate registration without overlap on cylindrical hollow containers. This not only results in higher print quality but also increases the attraction of your products.

  • 8

    Pantone color space:

Thanks to state-of-the art seven color printing (CMYK, Orange, Violet and Green), a Pantone color match of about 90% can be achieved. Convince yourself and compare your color swatches to actual print samples.

  • 9

    360° printing:

We did extensive research and development to enable true 360° printing without overlap or lap-line. The results are impressive and without compromise.

  • 10

Extremely accurate color transition and shading:

We have achieved a significantly enlarged color space, which enables extremely accurate color match. This also enables perfect color transition and shades.

  • 11

    Translucent colors:

The advanced color control of our digital printing system enables the application of ink on the packaging container with either opaque or with translucent effect. This can be used to let metallic substrates shine through the graphics.

  • 12

    Copy- and IP protection:

Conventional printing can easily be duplicated for counterfeit purpose, in order to market fraudulent or „fake“ products. Thanks to unique capabilities of our digital printing technology, copy protection features can be built into the graphics to prevent counterfeit (for example: “invisible” UV sensitive inks).

  • 13

Printing in neck and shoulder area:

Did you know that our digital printing machines are designed to print in the neck and shoulder area of a cylindrical container? We call this „full body printing“.

Digital printing is energy and resource efficiencient

  • Zero change-over and set-up cost
  • Economic production of minimum lot sizes
  • Zero basic set-up and low variable cost
  • Zero lost production time for production ramp-up
  • Simple, linear cost structure per copy
  • Predictable linear costing and estimating
  • Increased productive time capacity
  • 1

    Zero change-over and set-up cost:

Production on a Hinterkopf digital printing machine comes with zero set-up and zero ramp-up cost when changing over to a new graphics design.

  • 2

Economical production of small lot sizes:

Total cost per copy remains constant throughout the production with digital printing. For example, 5,000 pieces cost 1/10 of running 50,000 pieces. This makes production cost for small jobs and samples predictable and very economical.

  • 3

Zero set-up cost and low variable cost:

Digital printing comes with a linear cost structure, which means there is zero set-up cost and zero dysfunctional time for production start-up. Both factors help to keep variable cost low.

  • 4

Zero lost time for production ramp-up:

Digital printing does not require any physical image carrier, such as plates or film. The artwork for the next job is loaded from the graphics computer directly to the printing machine, resulting in savings of both time and cost for change-over, instant ramp-up and no dryer heat-up.

  • 5

    Predictable cost per product produced:

With digital printing, the total cost per product produced remains identical, regardless of job size. This provides excellent economics for small jobs and samples.

  • 6

Linear cost structure makes calculations easy and reliable:

An interesting aspect of digital printing is its simple, linear cost structure. Basic set-up cost and machine stoppage for production start-up are eliminated, making cost calculation and pricing quick, simple and reliable.

  • 7

    Increased production capacity:

Advantages of digital printing are particularly strong when producing small lot sizes. Lost time for elaborate equipment change-overs and adjustments for job changes are a thing of the past. This frees up machine capacity for productive operation. Even when equipment adjustments are required, for change of physical packaging dimensions for example, the usability and easy access of the D240.2 save time and money – by design.

Environmentally responsible: From design idea to printed product

  • Optimum resource efficiency
  • No printing plates, films, ink rollers
  • Print on Demand
  • Zero print waste
  • Digital Workflow
  • 1

    Resource efficiency:

Digital printing does not require any physical printing plates, the graphic design data is sent directly from the creative department to the printing machine. Change-over is instantaneous and energy intensive heating up is not required. Production ramp up does not cause waste, and neither does plate wear.

  • 2

No printing plates, films or ink rollers:

Our digital printing technology offers direct-to-container printing, without any transfer medium. This also means no loss of ink and only minimal amounts of cleaning solvents.

  • 3

    Print on Demand:

An often-overlooked aspect of conventional printing is the requirement to produce excess quantities of tubes, cans or bottles, which have to be inventoried and sometimes get scrapped after a while. Real-life data tells us that approximately 5% of all containers produced never get filled. Digital printing provides real on-demand production, and additional quantities can be produced at the same low linear cost if needed.

  • 4

    Zero waste:

At the start of each conventional print job, waste is produced even by the most skilled operators. Depending on lot size, waste percentage is significant and must be calculated. This waste percentage does not exist in digital printing, which saves money and helps the environment.

  • 5

    Digital Workflow:

The selected print job is printed directly on the cylindrical container – in perfect quality starting with the first copy. Change-over to different graphics, different print length and even change to different length containers happens at the push of a button.

  • 2

    Razor sharp tests:

Format variable and professional print quality at optimum resolution, enabling even scaling and zooming-in on images.

  • 2

    Razor sharp tests:

Format variable and professional print quality at optimum resolution, enabling even scaling and zooming-in on images.

  • 2

    Razor sharp tests:

Umweltbewusst: Vom Design direkt zum Printprodukt

  • Sparsamer Umgang mit Ressourcen
  • Keine Druckplatten, Klischees oder Farbwalzen
  • Print on Demand
  • Keine Makulatur
  • Digitaler Workflow
  • 1

  • 3

    Print on Demand:
