    Digital printing does not require any physical printing plates, the graphic design data is sent directly from the creative department to the printing machine. Change-over is instantaneous and energy intensive heating up is not required. Production ramp up does not cause waste, and neither does plate wear.

    The advanced color control of our digital printing system enables the application of ink on the packaging container with either opaque or with translucent effect. This can be used to let metallic substrates shine through the graphics.

    Copy- and IP protection:

    Conventional printing can easily be duplicated for counterfeit purpose, in order to market fraudulent or „fake“ products. Thanks to unique capabilities of our digital printing technology, copy protection features can be built into the graphics to prevent counterfeit (for example: “invisible” UV sensitive inks).

    Production on a Hinterkopf digital printing machine comes with zero set-up and zero ramp-up cost when changing over to a new graphics design.

    Total cost per copy remains constant throughout the production with digital printing. For example, 5,000 pieces cost 1/10 of running 50,000 pieces. This makes production cost for small jobs and samples predictable and very economical.

    Resource efficiency:

    Digital printing does not require any physical printing plates, the graphic design data is sent directly from the creative department to the printing machine. Change-over is instantaneous and energy intensive heating up is not required. Production ramp up does not cause waste, and neither does plate wear.

    No printing plates, films or ink rollers:

    Our digital printing technology offers direct-to-container printing, without any transfer medium. This also means no loss of ink and only minimal amounts of cleaning solvents.

    Print on Demand:

    An often-overlooked aspect of conventional printing is the requirement to produce excess quantities of tubes, cans or bottles, which have to be inventoried and sometimes get scrapped after a while. Real-life data tells us that approximately 5% of all containers produced never get filled. Digital printing provides real on-demand production, and additional quantities can be produced at the same low linear cost if needed.

    At the start of each conventional print job, waste is produced even by the most skilled operators. Depending on lot size, waste percentage is significant and must be calculated. This waste percentage does not exist in digital printing, which saves money and helps the environment.

    Sparsamer Umgang mit Ressourcen:

    Da beim Digitaldruck keine physikalischen Druckvorlagen benötigt werden, geht der Verpackungsentwurf direkt vom Rechner an die Maschine. Rüstzeiten und stromintensive Aufheizphasen gibt es keine. Ausschuss gibt es weder beim Anfahren noch später durch Abnutzung von Druckplatten.

    Keine Druckplatten, Klischees und keine Farbwalzen:

    Wir ermöglichen den direkten Druck auf ihr Produkt, ohne Übertragungsmedium . Dadurch entsteht kein Farbabfall und sie kommen nahezu ohne Reinigungsmittel aus.

    Print on Demand:

    Bei herkömmlichen Druckverfahren werden meist über den eigentlichen Bedarf hinaus zusätzliche Tuben, Dosen oder Flaschen produziert und bevorratet. In der Realität werden dadurch ca. 5 % aller Gefäße nie befüllt! Durch den Digitaldruck können dagegen auch kleine Ergänzungsaufträge rasch und on demand “ bedruckt werden, womit ein Großteil dieser Überkapazität “ eingespart werden kann.

    Keine Makulatur:

    Am Anfang jedes klassisch produzierten Auftrags beträgt die Makulatur je nach Auftragsgröße einige Prozent des Auftrags. Diese nicht nutzbare „Zusatzproduktion“ entfällt ebenfalls und entlastet dadurch die Umwelt.

    Das angewählte Motiv wird direkt auf den Rundkörper gedruckt in perfekter Qualität schon ab dem ersten Produkt. Die Umstellung des Drucks Motiv, Motivlänge und selbst eine Anpassung der Produktlänge erfolgt auf Knopfdruck.
